John E. Hudgins Jr. May 25, 1938 – Dec. 27, 2010
John E. Hudgins Jr., 72, of Kingsbury, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 in La Porte Hospital.
He was born May 25, 1938, in La Porte County, son of John E. and Marie M. (Lower) Hudgins Sr.
He graduated from Stillwell High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of South Bend Scottish Rite, La Porte American Legion Post 83, Westville Masonic Lodge No. 192 F. & A.M., and Orak shrine of Michigan City. He retired after 37 years of service with Sheet Metal Workers Local 20.
Surviving are his father, John E. Hudgins Sr. of Kingsbury; a sister, Diane K. Jones of La Porte; niece, Julie (Keith) Allesee of La Porte; nephew, William (Lea Anne) Jones of Rolling Prairie; six great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie.
Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at Kingsbury Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Tim Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Kingsbury Cemetery with full military honors.

Masonic History:
- Initiated as an Entered Apprentice, September 2, 1975.
- Passed to the degree of Fellow Craft on June 28, 1977.
- Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on May 2,1978.
- John was a member of Westville Lodge #192 F. & A. M. for 35 years, 3 months, 26 days.
OnĀ December 27, 2010 his weary feet came to the end of their toilsome journey and from his nerveless grasp dropped forever the working tools of life, and his spiritual body entered into that spiritual building, that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
